Terms of service

The service
Excubitor, run by Rui Aliu (contact: support@excubitorsecurity.com), checks public information about internet domains: email-related DNS records (SPF, DMARC, MX), the TLS certificate and the HTTP headers of one page. The check is passive: we do not break into systems or scan ports.
Results are for information. They show what can be seen from outside at a given moment and do not guarantee that a domain or website is secure.
Acceptable use
You may not get around the request limits, automate checks in bulk, or use the service to harm others.
We may refuse or suspend requests that break these rules.
Plans
- Free: 1 domain, checked every week, with an email when something changes.
- Paid: up to 5 domains, checked every day, for €9 per month. The final price, with any applicable taxes, is the one shown at checkout.
On the paid plan, daily checks and domains beyond the first only apply to domains you have proved you control (through a DNS record or the authorisation of an address on the domain itself). This way nobody can watch someone else's domain every day.
Payment and cancellation
Payments are processed by an authorised reseller (Merchant of Record), which is the seller of the subscription and issues the invoice. Its terms of sale apply to the payment.
The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period. You can cancel at any time: the paid plan stays active until the end of the period already paid, with no further charges. Refunds follow the refund policy.
Availability and changes
We do our best to keep the service available, but we do not guarantee it will run without interruption.
If we change the plans or prices, we will email subscribers at least 30 days in advance. A price change never applies to a period already paid.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you paid in the last 12 months. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Portuguese law. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live.
For consumer disputes, you can turn to the Portuguese National Centre for Consumer Arbitration (CNIACC): https://www.cniacc.pt
